Heartsaver Adult/Child CPR and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Course

( 3 hrs )  Cost = $60.00
For any lay rescuer, particularly those who are expected to respond to CPR and AED emergencies and who require a credential.The most common cause of sudden cardiac arrest is an abnormal heart rhythm.  The AED, a computerized defibrillator, analyzes the heart rhythm and gives voice instructions to either begin CPR or to interrupt the chaotic rhythm by shocking the heart and allowing the normal rhythm to resume.  Focus is on basic lifesaving skills using barrier devices and the AED.
  • AHA Adult CPR basic lifesaving skills include:
    • AHA Chain of Survival Adult
    • Signs of Heart Attack, Cardiac Arrest, Stroke
    • 1- rescuer CPR Adult with barrier devices
    • Foreign Body Airway Obstruction (FBAO) or choking in conscious victims
  • AHA AED:
    • Learn safe and accurate use of an AED
    • Placements of electrodes
    • Voice commands

Heartsaver AED Course

Prerequisite:  Must be certified in CPR.

For any lay rescuer, particularly those who are expected to respond to CPR and AED emergencies and who require a credential. 
Learn to use the Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
